Make a stunning, modern and artful quilt using a simplified stack-and-whack technique.
This is a two-day class: first day the students will cut and sew the pieces to create their blocks; the second day they will finish sewing the blocks and compose their quilts. The composition part can take longer than one expects.
By the end of the class most students will have an almost finished quilt top.
This class is super fun, every time someone in the class opens a recreated block there is a joyful moment of surprise because one never knows how the blocks will turn out.
The class features several fast sewing techniques, in addition to the stack-and-whack technique and information about value, composition, and layout.
The best fabric for this pattern needs to have a large repeat (ideally 22" to 24" but a 15" repeat can also work), fairly large and varied print (a small print will not work), a good amount of negative space and a limited number of colors.
Feel free to contact me if you have questions about the suitability of a particular fabric.

Create a modern quilt inspired by traditional patterns. Chose on of the four patterns listed below to make in class. This class is fun, fast paced and informative. It can be taken four times as each time you could chose another pattern to make.
Fast and different piecing techniques, plus layout and design tips are part of the class.
The patterns to choose from are:
o Motherboard - inspired by the traditional Log Cabin block (top left in the composite photo)
o Patch Nine - inspired by the traditional Nine Patch block (top right)
o On the Plus Side - inspired by the traditional Nine Patch block (bottom left)
o Split Pinwheels - inspired by the traditional Pinwheel block (bottom right)
All patterns work great with precuts. The first three patterns are Jelly Roll friendly, while Split Pinwheels is Layer Cake and Charm Pack friendly.
Kits for each of these patterns will be available for purchase in class, if anyone needs one.
